In this week’s class, the team sits down to talk The Big Sick, 2017’s based-on a true story RomCom hit. We compare the movie story to the real-life tale of Kumail Nanjiani and Emily V. Gordon’s romance, talk about the movie’s ability to represent different cultures and perspectives, and explore how it utilizes the RomCom formula in new ways.
