Today is game day for Extra Life 2015, where gamers all across the country have been marathon games in an effort to raise money for the Children’s Miracle Network hospitals. I’m participating but had too much going on this weekend to join everyone in the festivities. I did take this opportunity to kick off my own fundraising efforts today, though.
I set a goal for $500 a few months back, donating the first $100 myself. I’m sure I’ll get some additional support from my family. But I was pleasantly surprised to get a $100 matching gift from one of my Facebook friends today after announcing my involvement in the campaign.
Shortly after that, I saw the Extra Life Twitter account announce that gamers had brought in $1 million in donations today alone. That’s a pretty cool thing to be a part of. I look forward to marathon-ing Thanksgiving weekend. Keep it locked
here for more information on my eventual Extra Life marathon.
